11 Reasons You Need to Buy a New TV

7) White OLED

Currently OLED technology is available in two different forms: RGB OLED and White OLED. RGB OLED works in a manner similar to plasma televisions. Each individual pixel is subdivided into red, green, and blue, allowing each colored subpixel to be activated based on need. Pixels in White OLED have all three colors stacked on top of one another, and when activated create a white light. That light is then passed through a filter to create the needed color in any given situation. The benefit of the White OLED versus the RGB OLED is, at its root, longevity. This sandwich style decreases the possibility of a color shift within the pixels, and thereby decreases the need for maintenance or replacement parts. It also allows for a brighter picture and deeper color contrast.
