9 Worst Cars You Can Buy

6) Dodge Journey

The Dodge Journey has been on the market since 2009, and is a nice-looking option with ample cargo space in the mid-size SUV category. The third-row seat creates space for seven passengers and is an appealing option for families looking to avoid the minivan route, or those who find the full-sized Dodge Durango is too large. Unfortunately, Consumer Reports finds the extra seat makes the otherwise decent interior a bit claustrophobic. The V6 engine has the worst fuel economy in the category with an average of 16 mpg, and the reliability is below average. In safety tests performed by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, it rated poorly in small-overlap frontal crash tests. The cost ranges from $20,995-$33,695. Instead, consider the Toyota Highlander, which took the top spot.
