But luckily, there is some variety, including of lifestyle and wealth. So, regardless of where you’re from, you can find somewhere that makes you comfortable. Tennessee is one such state with plenty of cities and towns that have many resources and benefits. Even if you have never considered moving there, you may think again. To help you decide if you’re interested, here are the 10 wealthiest neighborhoods in Tennessee, based on per capita income data from the U.S. Census Bureau.
1) Belle Meade
Belle Meade, the neighborhood with the highest per capita income in Tennessee, is a Nashville suburb. There are over 2,800 residents of whom the median age is 46, according to Livability. The per capita income here is $104,016, so residents can afford a comfortable life. Because the neighborhood residents are wealthy, Belle Meade tends to be thought of as an exclusive place to live. If you do choose to settle here though, you can be sure of your safety. The police are known for enforcing laws well, and Niche ranks this town as the safest place in Tennessee. Home values and taxes are quite high, but buildings remain traditional and appealing. Additionally, Belle Meade allows for easy transport into the city and nearby parks. So, regardless of whether you have a preconceived notion of Belle Meade, you may want to see if it is a good fit for you.
2) Forest Hills
If you want to be among professionals and artists, Forest Hills sounds like the place for you. This small city is one of the most expensive places in Tennessee and is home to mostly white-collar folks. In fact, the per capita income here is $68,228, and property values are also high. The population is just under 5,000 residents who have a median age of 48, according to Livability. In addition to being a pretty high-brow place, AreaVibes ranks Forest Hills in the 85th percentile for livability. This city is also a very good place for families who are raising children. There are good schools here and many well-educated residents. Additionally, Forest Hills is a safe place to live. AreaVibes reports this town as having a crime rate 74% lower than the state in general.
