10 Things That Get Cheaper When You Retire

9) Communication

Its important to stay connected to friends and family. You can now do this for less once you retire. Most cell phone companies have discounts for people over 65. These discounts are usually around 10%. Although this may not seem like much, slowly the money will add up. Also, some companies have telephone plans designed especially for seniors. These plans tend to be most efficient. Don’t forget to take a look at how many minutes and data you actually use once you are retired. You may find that you do not use as many minutes as you used to now that you are not constantly making phone calls for work. You can reduce your phone plan to give you less minutes and data for a cheaper rate.

10) Retirement Contribution

A retirement contribution is always something on the back of most people’s mind once they start working. Workers try to save a part of their paycheck and put it towards retirement. After a while, people forget they are doing this and automatically assume they will not be able to touch some of the money. Now that you are retired, you no longer need to continuously put away money for your retirement. Instead, appreciate the benefits of saving all these years and use the money you put aside. If you put your money aside in a 401k you can start to withdraw this money without a penalty once you turn 59 and a half. Thank your younger self for being so prepared and start to enjoy your retirement.
