Vinings, a town in Cobb County in northern Georgia, has a population of approximately 9,700 people. The town occupies an area of 3.3 square miles. The majority of residents are between ages 25 and 44, with 30 being the median age. The per capita income in Vinings is $61,083, but men tend to have a higher income than women. Just over 5% of the population is under the poverty line, but only 4.9% of residents are unemployed, which is lower than Georgia’s overall unemployment rate. Over 66% of residents over the age of 25 have a Bachelor’s degree. Though the town is unincorporated, there has been discussion about whether it could officially become a township, which would give the town itself more control over certain aspects of land use.
